Experience Authentic Bavarian Culture in Historic Downtown McKinney |
Historic Downtown McKinney is set to transform into a vibrant German village from September 26 to 28 as the annual McKinney Oktoberfest makes its much-anticipated return.
Presented by the City of McKinney, this free, family-friendly festival offers attendees a taste of Bavaria in North Texas.
Festival hours are Friday from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Happy Hour specials will be available on Friday from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Multiple beer gardens will serve authentic German brews alongside local craft selections.
Food vendors will offer traditional fare such as bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels, and strudel.
Live entertainment will feature polka bands, yodeling performances, and family-friendly cover acts on two stages, ensuring a nonstop soundtrack for dancing and sing-alongs.
The festival’s “Kinderplatz” kids’ zone offers pint-sized guests carnival rides, face painting, and traditional alpine games like stein-hoisting contests adapted for youth.
Artisan markets will showcase handmade gifts, while demonstration areas will teach the art of carving pumpkins and crafting Oktoberfest wreaths.
Organizers highlight safety and accessibility: Main Street closures provide car-free walking zones, shaded rest areas offer respite from the sun, and a dedicated shuttle service connects to nearby parking lots and the historic McKinney Square.
With thousands expected to attend, McKinney Oktoberfest promises three days of culinary delights, cultural immersion, and community camaraderie—an autumn tradition that brings neighbors and visitors together. |
